Enrollment Timeline

Oct 1, 2025

On October 1, 2025, Prospect Schools’ application opens for school year 2026-27.

To submit an application, simply navigate to SchoolMint, create an account, and apply to one or more of our schools. The process should take about ten minutes.

Fall '25

During the fall months (Oct-Dec), we encourage families to visit our schools, learn more about our programs, and begin to narrow in schools that they feel would be best for their family.

In fall, all seven schools host families and students for regularly scheduled tours during school hours and for select tours at the end of the school day.

Brooklyn Prospect High School and each middle school will host information sessions during the fall, that take a deeper dive into curriculum, culture, and more.

Click this link to see school visit and tour dates for each school.

Winter '26

In January, school tours resume at all seven Prospect Schools in January.

For families who were not able to visit in fall, there are plenty of opportunities in winter (Jan-Mar). During these months, we encourage families to interact with our school communities and to get a feel for what it's like to a parent at Prospect.

Visit again and bring their prospective students so the whole family can start to get a feel for our school’s community.

The Lottery, Explained

The NYC School Lottery is used citywide to determine enrollment at schools which have more applicants than available spots. During the enrollment period (October 1 through April 1), families can apply to different schools they’re interested in, and the blind, random lottery selects students for available spaces. This process helps manage enrollment citywide and ensures that students have a fair chance at attending their desired school(s). Visit our Lottery FAQs to learn more, or book a call with us to talk through how this works.
