We are a tuition-free, public charter school serving grades K-12. Our Admissions is done by blind lottery, meaning no test scores, grades, recommendations or behavioral histories will be taken into consideration during the application process. Any student can apply to Brooklyn Prospect!

Please note: Lottery applications for the 2023-24 school year are open and we are still accepting waitlist applications for the 2022-23 school for a limited time. Please be sure that you select the correct school year when applying.

 Waitlist (all other grades)

If you would like to join the waitlist for any of our schools or grades, simply sign up and create an account to get started on your application.

Students admitted from our rolling waitlist will be contacted electronically via email and/or phone, so please be sure to update your contact information if it changes. As your student rises to each intake year (6th or 9th), please submit a new application to be considered for the lottery.

Please note, waitlists are established by qualifying preferences, and/or waitlist application timestamp.

Applications will be accepted for grades K-5, with openings expected in kindergarten. All rising kindergarten students will be asked to complete a lottery application. All other students will be asked to complete the waitlist application.

We offer lottery preference to:

  • Siblings of current students
  • Children of employees
  • Students residing in NYC who qualify for free or reduced price lunch
  • Students residing in District 13. To verify your District, click here.

Applicant families are strongly encouraged to attend an information session. Each information session features a formal presentation by the school principal, followed by a question & answer session. Please note that sessions do not include a tour of building facilities.

*Students who participate in the lottery with a preference but are unable to substantiate that preference will be placed at the end of the waitlist. Parents/guardians must provide proof of birth and district residency upon registration.

Applications will be accepted for grades 9-12, with openings expected in 9th grade. All rising 9th grade students will be asked to complete a lottery application. All other students will be asked to complete the waitlist application. Seats rarely open for 11th and 12th grade.
