Charter School Funding is an important issue for parents of charter school students. We urge you to read the below information about charter school funding in New York and  contact our local and state representatives urging them to visit our school and vote for continued charter school funding.

II. Extra-curricular Clubs

Monday:

RUNNING CLUB (twice per month, 3:45-4:40pm) second and fourth Monday, Room 222, Walsh. We will run up to and around the cemetery. As we progress, we will increase the length of the route.
        Additional meeting time will be Fridays –see below.

Tuesday:

WRITING CLUB (twice per month, 3:45-4:45pm) - first and third Tuesday, Room 504, Cetrulo
READING CLUB (twice per month, 3:45-4:45pm)- second and fourth Tuesday, Room 504, Cetrulo

Wednesday:  
ART CLUB  (twice per month 3:45-5:30) - second and fourth Wednesday, Room 222, Walsh. The goal will be to make eco-friendly art such as working with old sweaters, etc. Once every six weeks, we will do a museum or gallery visit on the weekend. I would love help from parents who would like to assist. Please contact Ms. Walsh: (awalsh@brooklynprospect.org) if you can help.

Thursday:
HISTORY CLUB (once per month 3:45-4:45)- generally the third Thursday, Room 502, Beerman

Friday:
ROBOTICS (weekly, 3:45-5:00), every Friday except the first Friday of each month, Room 529, Vaughan
MORNING BASKETBALL (weekly, 7:00-8:00 am) - each Friday, gym, Rubenstein
STUDENT COUNCIL (twice per month, 3:45-5:30pm), generally first and third Friday, Room 515, Ufondu/Rubenstein
SCHOOL NEWSPAPER (twice per month, 3:45-5:00pm)- generally the 2nd and 4th Friday, Room 527, Michael

* The above clubs are currently in formation.  Continuance of each of the above-clubs will be based on student interest.

The PTSO is looking to recruit candidates who reflect the wonderful diversity of our Brooklyn Prospect student body, are creative thinkers able to commit the time and energy to getting our PTSO off the ground and help it prosper in its role of fostering a close collaborative relationship among BP's families, teachers and administration, and, lastly, have fundraising, leadership, and/or organizational experience, either as a volunteer or through work.
