Lottery applications for kindergarten, 6th, and 9th are now open. Apply below before April 1st, the deadline. For all other grades, consider placing your name on the waitlist.

Brooklyn Prospect is a K-12, tuition free, public charter school.

Founded in 2009, Brooklyn Prospect is growing one grade per year until we reach full size. For the 2016-17 academic year we will enroll grades K-3, and 6-12. To date, there have been more applicants than seats at the school available. Although residents living outside of Community District 13 and 15 may apply to the school, district residents* are given priority.

Lottery

To apply a rising kindergarten, 6th, or 9th grader, please complete a lottery application.

In April, we hold a public admissions lottery to admit students for our major intake grades (kindergarten, 6, & 9th grades). Each year, Brooklyn Prospect fills approximately 50 new kindergarten seats, 100 6th grade seats, and 25 9th grade seats. Students not offered a seat at a Brooklyn Prospect Charter School are automatically placed on a rolling waitlist until the next intake grade, either 6th or 9th grade.

Waitlist

To apply to any other grade as a current 1st , 2nd, 7th , 8th, 10th and 11th grader, please complete a waitlist application. Waitlisted students will be offered seats as they become available via our rolling admissions process. Typically, up to 5 seats may be released in each non-intake grade during the school year due to family relocations. Waitlists are established by previous lottery number, qualifying preferences, and application timestamps. Admitted students will be contacted via email and/or phone call.
As your student rises to each intake year (6th or 9th), please submit another application to be considered for the lottery.

Lottery applications for kindergarten, 6th, and 9th are now open. Apply below, before the April 1st deadline. For all other grades, consider placing your name on the waitlist below.

Rising kindergarten, 6th, and 9th grade applicants may apply via the online lottery application below. Students not offered a seat at a Brooklyn Prospect Charter School are automatically placed on a rolling waitlist until the next intake grade, either 6th or 9th grade.

To apply to any other grade, please complete a waitlist application. Brooklyn Prospect maintains waitlists for each school: elementary, middle, and high school, until the following intake year: either 6th or 9th grade. As your student rises to each intake year, please submit another application to be considered for the lottery.

Brooklyn Prospect Charter School also participates in the New York City Common Online Charter School Application. Families that choose to apply via the New York City Common Online Charter School Application do not need to re-apply with the link below.

Please be aware that entry into our lottery or waitlist will not affect your child's NYC Department of Education (NYC DOE) elementary, middle or high school placement, or your placement in other charter schools. Because these processes are separate, Brooklyn Prospect as well as the NYC DOE, and other charter schools may concurrently offer seats.
