Program Highlights: We offer six core subject areas: Math, English Language Arts, Science, Social Studies, Foreign Language, and Visual Art and Design. Using the pillars of the International Baccalaureate program ("IB") to develop our academic program, we aspire to guide each of our students towards graduation with an IB diploma. In addition, please take a look at the Responsibilities of an IB Teacher. We support the development of our students’ literacy and study skills with daily advisory meetings. Each faculty member works with 10-12 advisees, helping each student discover his or her personal learning style, build foundational study skills and develop positive reading habits—all of which contribute significantly to students’ ability and willingness to learn. We focus on interdisciplinary teaching and learning. With shared classrooms and planning time built into the daily schedule, our teachers are encouraged to help students make connections across disciplines and to make student learning relevant to their lives. We are confident that our collaborative team culture, our extensive professional development opportunities and our commitment to excellence in the workplace make Brooklyn Prospect an appealing place to work.
